RM of Good Lake’s story
The Rural Municipality of Good Lake No. 274 incorporated as a rural municipality on January 1, 1913. It lies in east-central Saskatchewan and surrounds the town of Canora, where the RM's office is located.
Within its boundaries are the organized hamlets of Burgis Beach and Good Spirit Acres, along with a number of localities: Burgis, Canora Beach, Donald Gunn, Drobot, Gorlitz, Kitchimanitou Beach and Whitesand.
Today the RM is home to several places to visit, including Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park, the Horseshoe Lake Wildlife Refuge, Whitesand Regional Park and the Whitesand River Recreation Site. The Canora Station House Museum is also among its attractions. The RM is governed by an elected council and an appointed administrator, who meet on the second Monday of each month.
